Bead eyes on soft toys

I always thought these weren't safe and aren't allowed. But my baby has received many soft toys with beads for eyes... I've not let him play with them but are they ok? Or more for older children? Doesn't feel right personally but maybe I'm missing something

So I had some toys given to him that were handmade and asked the lady that made them about this.

As a business, they have to meet certain criteria and get the toys sent off for testing they have pull tests on the eyes and check for other hazards, they have to be certain type of eye that locks behind the fabric.

However, they do say 3 plus because the potential danger if a bead eyes did come loose is greater with a baby under 3.

I do let my little boy play with his soft toys and he doesn't go for the eyes. I always supervise him and inspect the toys before I give them to him and when I put them away.

He usually tries to suck on the paws or ears. If he did go for the eyes I would give him a safe part of the toy to put in his mouth instead.

If you are really worried you could always try to remove the eyes and have some embroidered on instead. Personally, I just supervise him when playing with most toys anyway.

I would sew in a small piece of clothing over the beaded eyes but if that would spoil the aesthetics, you can try to have them embroidered

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

How many words

Just a quick gauge of how many words your little ones are saying at this age. I heard by 15 months it should be 5 words, are most around this mark ?
