My daughter is 4 and is getting more into barbies. We bought her a barbie dream camper for Christmas and she got like 3 barbie sets from others for Christmas. She's been playing with it in her room so her brother doesn't try to eat the pieces. It brings me back to when I was little and payed with Barbies. My sister and I would play barbies for hours. I look at her playing alone and wonder if she feels sad. I wish I could've given her a sister to play with. At this point if i had another baby, by the time they'd be old enough she'd be about over barbies. Idk i just feel so guilty. I don't want her depending on me to play with her either because I can't play much when I'm watching her brother (he's very clingy). Idk I'm just having horrible mom guilt and needed to vent.

Firstly say no to this guilty feeling anywhere it shows up!

Playing alone at that age is honestly a really good thing—it means she’s using her imagination and feels safe and content in her space. That doesn’t equal lonely or sad at all.. sibs aren’t a guaranteed playmate the way we think abd half the time they fight or don’t even want to play the same things. What you’re seeing is actually a healthy, independent kind of play.
You didn’t do anything wrong by having another baby. She’s getting a different kind of childhood, not a lesser one. And having a brother will matter in ways that don’t show up in Barbie play right now.
This feels like mom guilt more than anything—and you’re doing just fine.
