Making the change to vegan from pescatarian

Hi ladies,

So I’m currently pescatarian and I also give me daughter the same diet. But I’ve recently watched the documentary ’Dominion’ 🫣💔

And I know want to go completely vegan but I’m worried about my daughters diet.

Any advice or recipes or any comments about the change will be appreciated. I’ve done lots of research but I just want to hear experiences of normal people and how they navigated weening and being vegan.

Hey! I was vegetarian went vegan because daughter had CMPA and at the same time learnt about how vegetarian is still supporting animal cruelty etc- found the change fairly easy finding good alternatives etc. we take multivitamins as a family and also nutritional yeast (vitamin B12)we sprinkle on or add to recipes which is the only vitamin vegans need to supplement not found in plants :) some of our favourite dinners are lentil bolognaise, chickpea/tofu curry, stir fry with veg and tofu, vegetable quasadilla with black beans, burritos with vegan chicken/beef! Feel free to message me ☺️💞

We are fully plant based in our house, like lily we all take multivitamins, and I try to get as many nutrients into every meal as possible

Hi.

My husband is vegan. And im plant based (at home) but not so strict out and about.
(And honestly i dont hold the full beliefs of most vegans, but do value the positive impact i have on the planet)

Anyway I had big worried about having vegan baby. From nutrition to social judgement (which i know is stupid).

I purchased a book called "plant powered little people" which i think is fab and made me feel safe in our decision.

Its lots of science and tables which is my language. It also has recepies and usefull snack ideas.

Best of luck.

My little boy has been vegan since birth (4 now) and me and my husband have been vegan over 10 years. Luckily he loves tofu but we also eat lots of beans, fortified milks, we do a mac and cheese using cashews in the sauce, chickpea curry is also a big hit. He’s always been very healthy and no concerns from any healthcare professionals. I’m lucky he’ll eat a very varied diet though. Good luck with it ♥️

Idiot husband

I am fuuuuming. Livid. Hubby went out to the pub last night, not a problem, you deserve it after a long week at work.

We have a baby and toddler.. so I said, sleep in the other room, take our toddlers monitor, as I don’t want you to disturb the baby.

I wake up to my toddler screaming, WITH HIM SLEEPING THROUGH IT!!!! When I checked her camera she was crying for 8 minutes. She has been awake over an hour now because she fully woke herself up crying so much. Her words: ‘daddy didn’t come’

Needed a space to rant before I actually go and bop him on the bloody nose😡😡😡😡

Baby girl enjoying her first slice of pizza

I was just giving her pieces off my slices. She kept a screeching until I gave her a slice of her own.

Edit: she ate one full slice and the toppings off a second

Based off of the boys and dolls post: if you have a son and daughter, do you let them play dress up or tea party together?

In relation to the post asking about dolls and getting them for boys... If you have a son and daughter, do you let them play dress up together or tea party together? Or do you make them play separately over a fear of a child's game or toys? And yes I said child's game and toys instead of gendering them on purpose. Just wondering how deep rooted this ideology is and does it make people make decisions that affect sibling relationships and playtime.

Personally yes they can play with any toy and any imagination play they want because it's great for their relationship, it also benefits both in the future ESPECIALLY the male in my opinion.

Any WFH moms with little/no childcare?

I start back to work from home in a little over a week. My LO will be almost 4 months then (16 weeks). What are your best tips and tricks to make things go smoothly for you and for baby?

Am I doing this wrong ?? 🥲🥲

My baby just turned 9 months old and I move had her on purées since 6 months. She’s now on thicker and lumpier purées but after she was doing a better job at eating 2 meals a day she’s now back to refusing food most of the time. She’d take a spoonful or 2 and I can tell she likes the taste but then she’d refuse to eat any more. She used to do this at 7 months I can’t believe we’re back to this again 😭😭

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong here… should I just go the BLW route instead ?? Am I progressing her too slowly into solids?

Nursery fund process

Can anyone please explain how does the nursery fund process work. I'm supposed to return to work mid September and I'm really stressed about what to do. When should I start looking for nurseries and how does the funding from the government works. I would appreciate if someone could explain in details.
