Hiii, I had my first baby at 31 weeks and he spent 6 weeks in NICU. I’m currently pregnant again due in June and have a cervical scan this week. Has anyone been offered or had a cervical stitch after a premature birth? Would love to hear others experiences 🤍

I had my first boy in 2022 at 28+6, made it to 33+5 with my second after having the stitch placed at 20 weeks. Cervix was monitored every two weeks from 12 weeks x

Hello! I’ve had the cervical stitch in my second pregnancy (currently 30 weeks). My first was premmie but was late premmie at 35 weeks. The hospital noticed my short cervix at my first scan with my second.
The best thing to do is ask for a referral to a pre term birth clinic - https://www.tommys.org/our-research/specialist-clinics/premature-birth-prevention-clinics
Ask for a cervix check and advocate for yourself 😊 a lot of UK hospitals have guidelines and being under a preterm clinic is the best option.
