19th percentile

Hey mamas, I’m 29weeks today and recently had my appointment with my midwife which led to a scan. My baby is weighing at 19th percentile, they said it’s nothing to worry about. But I can’t help but to worry, especially when I see most women at my stage of pregnancy being 50th percentile and I plan to have a water birth. I have another scan in 2 weeks time and trying to eat as much calories as possible. Any advice? Or does this all depend on baby?

Why did they book you for another scan ? Mine was 18th percentile overall at 19 weeks, with some body parts measuring even smaller and some bigger, and they did not book me or mentioned another scan.. I'm now almost 25 weeks and have not had any follow up for this.

I see, so basically you went up from 10th percentile at 20 weeks to 19th percentile now! To be honest I would have been reassured, this sounds really good! Don't stress yourself. No idea why they want to measure you again.

Anything below 10th percentile is a base to have GAP scans. You have nothing to worry about. My two, year old measured 10th and lower percentile. He was born with 3kg and 52cm. Since 3mo he measured and still is at 97percentile. Don't worry. As long as your health and your baby is healthy at the end of the day these are just charts nhs need to follow. I unfortunately listened to my consultant and had induction which lead to c section

Hi, i am 28 weeks and my baby was on the 7th percentile and has moved up to the 9th. As a precaution any under the 10th percentile in my area get growth scans from 32 weeks but I have been reassured that it doesn't mean much as long as they 'hold the line' and don't drop dramatically. They did a full scan of everything and can see all organs and stuff are working. Some adults are smaller than others just one of those things.
I went through the same feelings like if I eat more will it pass on to the baby and they get bigger but was told it doesn't work like that it will just put more strain on you and your joints.
Easier said than done not to worry but everything is ok x

My first was born on 12th centile, after being predicted to be the 8th - this didnt affect my birth plan whatsoever. I am 29 weeks with my second. At 20 weeks, he was on 40th centile, at 28 weeks, the 15th. I already have growth scans booked from 32 weeks, but they are notoriously inaccurate so wouldn't be concerned

Hello 👋🏻 my son was born on the 2nd centile 3 years ago and it made no difference to my birth preferences. He was born healthy and thriving, just naturally small. I have been automatically offered growth scans for this pregnancy and at 20 weeks my baby was measuring 19th centile, which the sonographer said wasn’t an issue at all. The scans are there as an extra check and can offer discussion afterwards should you have questions. Unfortunately, eating more calories won’t help and it’s out of your control as your baby will grow at their own rate, even if they do end up smaller than average, although centiles change so they might end up on a much higher centile. Good luck 👍

Scan needed at 33 weeks

Hi ladies! I just had a midwife appointment (I am 33+5)..the midwife was different to my usual midwife. She's requested I have a scan within 72 hours as she said baby is measuring a little small, however, she did say that it's likely nothing to worry about and it's probably just her measuring me a bit different to my usual midwife. Has anyone else had this? Am a bit worried although babys heartbeat and movements are completely fine.

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient 😂🥲

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?
