How are all your reception kids doing after school? We are finding our little girl is so tired after school. She doesn’t present as tired, she’s running around like a loon, but is emotional and quick to anger too. I know they hold it all in at school, and then release feelings when they get home safe.
My question is, what do you do after school? TV is too overstimulating for her (bad experiences!), I can’t take her out to the shops or for a walk cos she’s tired. Playing only happens if I play with her (tricky if trying to cook dinner too) What works for your kids?

We get the same with our little one, but telly works for her to calm down, as long as we only do it for an hour-ish. She also likes drawing, 'tidying up' and listening to her Yoto

We've had some major emotions after school the last couple of months 😭 they're so hard to handle at the moment nothing we do gets through to him

Can't work out how to reply on the right thread, but yes, would defo recommend a yoto! Great for her to play independently and feel autonomy, and the cards are a simple solution for gifts with loads of options, and they don't take up loads of space so goodfor avoiding clutter! Also nice that you can create your own cards. I did one of me singing lullabies for our daughter before the new baby was born so she could listen while I was busy elsewhere, really helped!
