Is it bad for a boy to brush your hair?

I don’t think it is, my 4yo toddler was brushing my hair (I had the idea) and he was happily doing it. Then my partner got mad, took the brush from him and took him away, and prohibited me to let him do that. Which is just stupid to me. He said a boy should not do those things, and told me not to get the kid involved in that type of stuff.

The kid cried for a while when he took the brush. Am I in the wrong or is this really stupidity and taboos?

Boys also need to brush their hair! This is basic hygiene, it’s like brushing your teeth.

That is some toxic masculinity bs. What if he wants to help you when you are injured or old. What if his partner needs that from him or if he has a daughter (god forbid) without a mother aka single dad, working mom or just no mom at all. It's a good thing to teach your son all sorts of life skills so they know how to function as an adult, partner and parent in the future. A partner who can't help isn't an partner worth having.
