What is your experience in postpartum with your thyroid?

Anyone also experiencing postpartum thyroiditis? I am currently 6 weeks postpartum and in my hyper phase and my number were off the charts high. I stopped taking my Synthroid and was told to wait for my body to swing hypo. Curious how others may have experienced this.

How are you feeling now and what has happened since then?I previously got pp thyroiditis too and went hypo at 6 weeks for about 3 weeks and then swung the other way and went that was for good until I got pregnant again 8 months pp and now I’m 3 months pp again and I’ve gone hypo and wondering if it’s all happening again I can’t be bothered with it it was awful last time how I felt 😩😩

I’m so sorry to hear that! It really is the worst. I am now 9 weeks pp. I am definitely normalizing before the hypo sets in. I still haven’t restarted my meds yet as I’m getting new bloodwork this week to see where my numbers land. I’m hopeful it will help me time taking my Synthroid so I don’t fully crash into hypos. I have really enjoyed feeling good these past two weeks as the hyper phase fizzled out. Do you also have hashiomotos?

I thought I would have been told to come off the levothyroxine as I’m hyper but they have just reduced it instead for some reason. If you don’t mind me asking what were your blood results?

Oh no :( it really is so sucky. Unfortunately if you have antibodies present then you have hashiomotos. I don’t know why doctors are always hesitant to give the diagnosis. My tsh was fully suppressed and almost 0, my t3 free was around 10, and t4 at 3.8. It’s because your thyroid leaks everything it has stored. My endo just told me not to take my Levo and it would pass. I had extreme symptoms like the fast heart rate, sweaty heat intolerance, and gittery. It did pass finally. It has to wear off eventually…. I’m now 9 weeks postpartum and just got blood work done yesterday and waiting to see but I know I most definitely need to start my Levo again. I’m feeling sluggish like I’m crashing into hypo. My endo said that I may need a high dose of it just while the thyroid is depleted and then hopefully go back to a pre pregnancy dose

When did you circumcise your baby?
If you DID NOT or DO NOT have a circumcised son DO NOT comment this post is not for you!

Did you wait a certain amount of time or have it done immediately?
Again respectfully, this is only for the parents who choose to do so.
opinions about how not necessary it is will not be appropriate for this post. Thank you in advance. 🩵

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Crawling

Did anyone’s little one start crawling yet? I feel like we are falling behind but really have no idea. I’m trying to introduce more floor time but it’s been rough because of having hardwood floors and our 80 lb oblivious to life dog. I got us a carpet for the living room and trying to put the dog out more when the weather allows. She sits like a pro and will roll to get the things she needs😅 but no real signs of crawling yet.

Night time routine

Heya, my 3 week old daughter is currently exclusively breastfed and I’m not pumping. Can anyone recommend the best way to share the load with my partner? At the moment I’m doing all the feeds/burbs/settling and my partner is sleeping through which obviously isn’t sustainable, I’m trying to work out the best way to get him involved. Any advice very much appreciated!
