My baby is 5 days old and he only sleeps in my arms, having to hold him all night between me and my husband. Every time we put him down he screams on top of his lungs and he will only calm down with breastmilk..
Anyone else having the same problem ? 🥲

Hi! This is completly normal at that age, we even rang the midwives about it as we wernt getting any sleep 😂 they told us the best thing to do was to work in shifts so you both get sleep, if your husband is off work could one of you do the night shift and the other do the day so you both get some sleep? After a little while with my LO we managed to put her down in her moses basket/next to me it didnt last too long x

I did when my daughter was first born. It's completely normal and that will eventually change. My daughter is now 5 months and does this every now and then

Heya! Yep same here and normal, they're awake more at night as your milk supply is higher and sleep all day 🫠 my husband and I take shifts overnight as we have a toddler so can't sleep much in the day when he's home. I usually stay up til 1 or 2 and he does from then onwards, just brings him up to me for feeds. It's really tiring but it passes

You can look up how to safely chest sleep or co sleep, making your bed safe just in case you accidentally fall asleep is far safer than falling asleep when not preparwd

Is there a reason you want to avoid co sleeping? I'll be honest, in the living room is more dangerous because of the chance of falling asleep on the sofa, which is a very unsafe sleep surface

I’m in the exact same boat, currently 5 days old and can’t be put down at all! I’m just enjoying the cuddles and going to start trying to introduce the moses basket during the day

Same situation here.. mine is also 5 days old and started cluster feeding yesterday. Resorted to topping up with formula just to I could get some sleep after nearly 3 hours of on/off feeding. She falls asleep every 2 seconds while feeding too, so it’s not like I can relax a little until she’s satisfied.. we’re constantly stimulating her to remind her to feed 🙃🙃🙃
But on a positive note, hopefully this is a sign of growth and wanting more energy to grow and explore the big wide world 🤞🏻
We’ve got this!!

With my first I stayed up all night with her until she was 3 weeks old, she wanted to be on the breast all night but around 5/6am she'd settle down for a long sleep on my husband (while he played playstation, alright for some 🙄) and that's when I went up to bed. It was very tough but I got my sleep in 1-2 hour naps spread through the day rather than relying on night time sleep.

I had my pram in my livingroom with my first and used to have to push him around for him to have a little sleep so I could just settle for half an hour xx
