Hi everyone so my son is obviously 5 and he’s always loved numbers recently we’ve come to realise his maths is scarily good, he can do is 2,3,4,5,10 times tables. Adding up to 100 in all different combinations and taking away.
He’s my first so I have no idea if this is “normal” if anyone here is a teacher what should he be doing in reception? And how’s best to support him I’m always asking him different adding and subtracting combinations through the day.

Hey my LO is the same age and can do all his times tables, adding double digits and triple digits in his head, subtraction and division. His teacher has said he is advanced and has been doing square numbers with him as well. We do the same and ask him random maths questions and we have several maths workbooks that we do with him x

I too have a Sheldon cooper/stewie type child. Is yours nice? Mine is delightful until he goes full Bond villain. I fear that if I put on the piece of classical music he will eventually build a shark tank to throw me into 🤣
