Anyone else keep having midwife appointments cancelled less than an hour before due to “clinic being closed” although they’re not actually closed and it’s due to “unpredicted staff illness” (i have had this issue with both walnut tree and brooklands through the community midwife centre at MK hospital)
First time mum to be with a baffled family who never experienced this. Feeling very stressed and neglected by the NHS.

Call the duty line and explain to them x

Sorry to hear that, it’s such a stressful time aswell. Did they say anything to you?

Hopefully PALS are helpful. The duty line just used to go to voicemail certain times when I rang it 🙄

Honestly useless 🙄

Yep. It was atrocious. I also had a midwife come to my house to take blood as they’d let me down so many times, and she forgot to bring any needles. I’d waited in for 4 hours. I also got booked into a consultant appointment that they told me i must go to, my husband and i had to borrow a car and take 2 hours off work each, only for them to say it was a mistake booking when i got there.
I did get an apology text from a midwife. Ended up moving (for other reasons) but lost all trust in that system.

While I was pregnant last year my midwife I saw at the start and was assigned to went off sick. For the rest of my pregnancy I was never assigned someone new and just saw different people every appointment I had. I would also have appointments cancelled last minute due to staff shortages, sometimes on the day or the day before x
