First Appointment

Hi I rang my doctor to book my first midwife appointment as I’ve just found out I’m pregnant. They explained they can’t book me an appointment I have to self refer myself online on the hospital website. Is this correct? Things seem so different to when I had my other child a few years ago. They were so helpful then and booked me an appointment weeks in advance. Feel like I’m in a bit of a weird stage where there’s not professional support or confirmation of my pregnancy to put my mind at ease.

Yes that's right. I had to self refer online through the hospital in 2023 and this time with mypregnancynotes. It is a weird time, I don't have my booking appointment till 10 weeks this time so I won't see anyone til then. Last time it was at 7 weeks

I had to get in touch with my dr to refer me. It depends on your trust. Google it and the NHS website will tell you when you put in your location whether your trust is self referral or through drs
