I’ve been induced twice! First time it took two days, so be prepared to be there for a while. It can be a long and slow process to start. Bring games, books, coloring books, things to keep you busy.

I was just induced with my daughter and it was quick and easy!!

Good luck!

Aww I’m also a ftm & my induction WAS @4pm today but i left at 6am cause the baby could already be here waiting all that time . I was tooo excited ! I don’t have a story but I def say relaxing and calming your nerves with the thoughts of induction just helps trick your body into labor and we were MADE for this helps! & getting the epidural is not a crime but i say hold off as long as you can so you have the freedom of moving around incase you labor for 24-48 hrs (I wouldn’t want to be on bedrest that long) 😀 BUT We got this girl! Prraying and wishing all women having babies a safe delivery 🩷💙

I was just induced on the 21st! I delivered little man on the 22nd at 11:19 am, I loved my experience! The nurses made all the difference in the world. You are stronger than you think you are and you got this! Good luck girl 😊

it is an IV pain medication it does not take all the pain of labor away but it does help . It’s just another thing added to my IV and they basically described it as the first bag works the strongest and after that they help less and less but I never finished my first bag so I don’t have experience with that part . I held off till I was around an 8 to get any pain meds . Nubian did make me a little in and out sleepy wise for very brief periods of time but to me that was expected since I had discussed it with my OB prior .

Hi! I’m a FTM and I was induced at 39wks (I’m 40yo). I was NERVOUS since I had a very unfavorable cervix — but the hospital knew what it’s doing! I got the balloon inserted along with cytotec (cervical ripener) when I got there. I was really nervous about the ballon so I asked for nitrous oxide (can take the edge off, and it’s self-controlled — I knew I’d want the epidural but wanted to hold off a bit so that I could move more since moving positions during the pregnancy always helped with pain) but then I didn’t even have to use it at all! Contractions started soon after naturally, so I didn’t need pitocin for a while. Once the contractions ramped up I started wanting the epidural even if the balloon wasn’t out/even if I wasn’t 4cm yet)… well they put the epidural in and then tugged lightly on the balloon which easily came out since I was 4cm! Then I felt no pain, it was magical! Pitocin was increased slowly. 24hrs after starting, I was ready to push and my baby arrived an hour later!

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

2nd pregnancy after c section

I’m not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon but in the future possibly. I just wanted to know how is pregnancy after c section like my fear is having to go through another emergency operation or even putting strain on my incision during pregnancy

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Hospital bag (UK)

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
