Toys for 7month olds

I honestly feel like at Christmas I’ve asked for all the wrong toys from family because at that
Time she was 4 months but now she’s 7 months and so active and sitting on her own and trying to crawl and all the toys I have are just wee fiddily things that don’t really help her development wise🤣🤦🏼‍♀️ also bought all 6-9m clothes for Christmas and in the space of 2 months she is now in 9-12m clothes, this baby has my heart (and bank account) broke🤣😭

What’s your babies playing with on a daily basis? Is there anything you would recommend? Going to compile a list and when I can afford to I’m gonna just do a toy clear out and replace toys with stuff more age appropriate, like she doesn’t have a “favourite toy” she gravitates to I’m just hoping something will give her motivation to crawl if I put it infront of her😅

Honestly I’ve bought so many toys for my 6 month old which have been utterly useless the only thing she likes is her play mat with different objects as she loves to grab things. shes also sitting independently the best thing I’ve found works is the most boring objects like every day thing remote, plastic cup or a teddy. if your looking for sensory play i sometimes put a few bowls in front of her with different things in so one will have porridge one will have fruit purée and the other some baby rice pudding she loves touching things and getting messy also lets her explore flavour and texture makes a mess but I love to see her happy face when she plays.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

How many words

Just a quick gauge of how many words your little ones are saying at this age. I heard by 15 months it should be 5 words, are most around this mark ?
