I told my work i was pregnant few weeks ago, and they were super excited to share that they about to finish new exciting maternity policy. This came out last few days and covers 100% pay for 12 weeks and few other benefits and it looks promising compare to SMP however i found out i am missing this off few days of my service. I started May 19th and my due date is 24th August and this policy covers basically from 6 months of service. This mean I am missing of 5 days 😔
Anyone could advise anything? I don't have a certiface yet so my due date might change but does it? I honestly have no expierence or idea how to go about it, if I could expect support in company for making exemption?

How far along are you? They confirm your due date at your 12 week scan so if you are earlier than that then it may change (my confirmed due date by scan is a week later than my estimated due date was initially just going by my last period.)

If you’re a few days out I’d definitely have a conversation with HR and ask if they can make an exception! That seems really unfair if you’re that close - Good luck!

So my company made an exception for me! They passed my probation at 5m instead of 6m and then they paid me 3m full pay. Super chuffed they didn't have to do that at all!

But may 19th- august 24th is 15 months? So you will have more than the 6 months you mentioned? The dates you've mentioned are confusing lol

But you will have been in service 15 months if you go on maternity in August 2026, if you started May 2025?

When you get pregnant doesn't matter, it's when you go on maternity leave that matters
This Enhaced maternity pay is calculated by due date
It needs 52 weeks in service including qualifying week which is 15th week before expected week of childbirth

Usually it’s the amount of service from the day you’re employed.. if you was employed in May and the inclusion is 52 weeks of service, you should be entitled from May?
Definitely speak to HR to confirm this, and if you are a few days short, definitely ask if they would honor it x
