Refusing to feed

My baby is almost 4 months old and is refusing his bottle I feel like I’ve tried almost everything I’ve changed the flow of the teats and different temperatures of milk but he keeps acting like he’s in pain I can tell he’s hungry and it’s frustrating him I’ve been giving him calpol because I’m wondering if he’s started teething but he’s gone from 4 ounces every 2-3 hours to 2 ounces every 4-5 hours

We’ve been having a similar issue. Went from taking his bottle fine to being so fussy on his bottle and each one feeling like a fight.
We had the HV out, she wasn’t able to give too much advice but said if he’s fighting it or refusing after a couple ounces try again later. It’s difficult when they seem to be hungry tho but then aren’t taking it!

Have you tried a different environment for feeding? My son will feed much better in a quiet, dimly lit room versus something with lots going on. He didn’t used to be like this but have noticed it in the last week or so- he’s 14 weeks old

My son was the same, screamed at every bottled. He’s being trialled on hypoallergenic milk and seems to be a lot better

Have you checked for mouth thrush? My little one was the same and he was just taking a little bit of milk and screaming in pain.

My baby went through a bottle aversion too at 12 weeks - no clue why!!

my daughter does the same when she's constipated or needs a poo? could it be that? or maybe distraction while feeding? when its too loud she will kick scream and cry so we try feed in quiet calm. or could be overtiredness my baby doesn't know whether to sleep or eat so i feed her until i can see she can no longer stay awake and put her to sleep then wake her up again an hour later or so and feed again.
