My Mother In Law Said What?!

Am I being sensitive?

So myself and husband take our two toddlers to weekly swimming lessons. Mother in law keeps showing up to come and watch them swim without asking. Then spends the whole time not helping and makes my life harder than it actually is.
Today she actually text to ask if we were okay with swimming today. Which my husband replied we were fine.
Then she arrives to meet us there….

I find it really awkward, how she invites herself.
However on days we need her to help with childcare she is always too busy with friends or volunteer work
