I started off breastfeeding but found it too painful so went on to pumping instead about 1 week pp I never could quite produce enough to use only breast milk, would only need to use about 3/4 bottles of formula at night time rest of the day I’d use breast milk, beginning of this week I got mastitis which is now in both boobs and since then my milk supply has gone down, now today I’m lucky to be pumping 1oz and I feel so deflated, I pump every 3 hours (as advised by doctor) I don’t know what to do, I don’t want to go formula full time but I just can’t get the milk out or it’s like I’ve dried up😩 has anyone else experienced this?

Could you get some help on your baby’s latch to see if breastfeeding could be less painful? I believe a baby can get more milk from you than a pump is able to. As breastfeeding is supply and demand, the only way to up your supply is to increase demand consistently.

Look up galactagogue foods/ supplements to see if you can boost your supply. Hopefully you can get it back up 🤞

Are you drinking enough water and have you got the right flange size as that can effect how much you are getting

Have you replaced your pump part? The valve especially needs replacing every month each!
Also, I know it’s easier said than done but stress will most definitely impact your supply.
And you mentioned giving formula at night, but are you still pumping during the night? This is the most important moment of the day for supply !
Don’t hesitate to message me, my supply has been very up and down for ages and it’s quite stable now, happy to discuss more if I can help x

Latch baby back onto breast

Best baby is a fed baby. It’s ok if you supplement or switch to formula.

As Juliette said, I also had supply issue in the beginning was giving formula over night but when I was more rested and felt able to breastfeed at night, this is when I noticed a huge boost in supply and eventually came off formula.
Also having the right pump 100% helps. I have two manual ones and had much more luck with them over the expensive mom cozy hands free x
