Currently going through a miscarriage
This has got to be the most confusing process I’ve been through.
I started bleeding on Wednesday, straight to hospital to get checked. They did blood work and referred me to EPU. They were full to capacity the next day so referred to a different department to be seen. So off I go on Friday, repeat bloods and scans. Told blood work only risen by 25 instead of nearly 200+, my cervix was closed (also a sort of good sign) and scans showed a pregnancy (a small sac). Asked to go back today to repeat bloods as the doctor was confused about what’s going on, 5 hours after leaving the hospital I pass a huge clot with bodily tissue surrounding it - I instantly know what that means. I go back today for repeat bloods obviously expecting to be told they’ve dropped enough to show I’ve miscarried. My markers have come down but only by 8% so I now have to go back Friday to check bloods again! As they’re still really confused as to why the markers haven’t come down as much if I’m passing blood and what appears to be the pregnancy.
I just want it confirmed so I can fully come to terms with it all and process it without having to keep going back and waiting for the inevitable.

I am sorry you’re going through this. I find women’s health care garbage and no one cares.
I think it takes the body a bit for levels to drop. With my first loss it took over 21 days for my HCG to drop.
My last loss baby was measuring around 7 weeks with no heartbeat. I should’ve been 8 weeks. So to me it had died. But they made me wait 10 days for another scan to confirm it. That was November 17 and they said they’d refer me to EPU but I didn’t hear from anyone. I followed up December 2 and got a place for December 9th. But surely having a dead fetus inside you for weeks isn’t good..

It was probably a miscarriage in transition. So they cannot confirm it's a miscarriage yet. It happened to me but never had bloods done. Just scans.
Sorry for your loss. It's a horrible experience. I tried again 2 periods after my miscarriage and had a successful pregnancy. Xx
i had a miscarriage on 18th of february . i went for a private scan and it showed 6 weeks with no heartbeat whereas i was 7 weeks 3 days . she referred me to early pregnancy unit and they diagnosed it as mono mono pregnancy with twins one with heart beat and another no heartbeat . After two days i started spotting and then subsequent heavy bleeding after 4-5 days and then i started heavy cramps and ended up in emergency . Miscarriages are really painful .
