Allergy testing

Hi has anyone had any luck with getting an allergy test for your little one from your GP? If so how was it? Did you have to push for it alot? She has red patches/eczema that just doesn't seem to clear so want to explore possible allergies.

One of my twins is reactant to a few foods and has cmpa. GP won't do allergy testing but has referred to paediatricians. This was done in November. However appointment is 3rd November 2026 🫠

Its a battle. But absolutely advocate!

My baby ended up in a&e after eating half a digestive biscuit (suspected wheat allergy), has suspected cmpa, is under dermatology for severe eczema and has also reacted to peanuts and apple, and they still won't do allergy testing.

My bub had an allergic reaction when we started weaning at 6 months, as well as having very severe eczema since he was born. We pushed a lot for allergy testing from our GP (took several tries before they did it) at the time since the out of hours GP we saw for the allergic reaction recommended it and were referred - he has his appointment in a few weeks (so about 5 months since the initial referral)...tbh though I'm half expecting to turn up and find out the appointment isn't even for allergy testing 🙄
