Anyone else been told they have low PAPP-A and need extra scans? 😟

After my 12 week scan I was told I had low Papp-a and a high chance of Down’s syndrome. Had the NIPT test and cleared of Down’s syndrome now but like you will be told I will have extra scans every 4 weeks from 28 weeks I think.
This is my third pregnancy and not had these issues before so it’s thrown me for sure! I’ve googled and researched it to death tho and I have found mostly positive stories.
Have you been prescribed aspirin daily? X

This is my second and the first was smooth sailing too! Yes, I have to take 150mg a day… I don’t mind the extra scans as it’ll be reassuring to know everything is growing as it should but I’m a little anxious about what it could mean for needing a potential induction…I was hoping for a home birth without intervention so this feels a little scary! I hope you’re not too anxious lovely X

Yea trying to see the positive side of extra scans so extra times to see baby boy.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you, surely if babies weight stays on track they shouldn’t have any objections to your birth plan.
I had an emergency section twice before and really wanted to try for VBAC but my midwife basically said no way 😢 x

I have low papp a, I’m currently taking 150mg of aspirin a day and hoping for the best. There's not much else we can do.

I had low papp-a with my daughter i think my level was 0.38 MoM. I had extra scans and everything and was declined a water birth and was told id need to be induced early.
Turns out everything ended up all good and she was born at 39 weeks 7pounds15.
I think most of the time it goes okay, they just have to tell you the risks incase anything does happen, but small chance unless your levels are extremely low:)

I'm 14 weeks pregnant with my second and was told I have low papp-a..
Taking aspirin till the end of term scares me abit as it is a blood thinner and in case of bleeding and etc it will be hard to stop 🙈
Am I thinking too much? Seeing my midwife in 2weeks and will have a chat about it as for now I got only a piece of paper stating facts and nobody to consult 😖😖
I keep seeing posts/tiktoks/instagram reels saying late November babies are being born early like now early and for the last few days my braxton hicks have been terrible. I think I’m also leaking my mucus plug but not sure.

First ever pregnancy the baby was too big, this pregnancy the baby is too small
Last time I got induced and did labour til we reached 10 centimetres but the baby just didn't want to come out,
(at 42 weeks I might add)
so after pushing for so long and 2 doctors later
Emergency C-section it was... On the 25th of May 2025
This time I am hoping for a vbac but they want to induce me at 38weeks this weekend
(so 17 month difference)
because the baby seems to be growing smaller than usual, placenta blah blah blah
Hopefully I can push this baby out or am I being delusional? Lol any thoughts are welcome, I'm based in UK, London

Hey I’m 26 weeks pregnant with my first baby and have been going to the Royal Women’s for my appointments so far, but I have moved recently and now Sandringham is my closest hospital (only a 10 minute drive vs a 30 minute drive to the Women’s). I’m in two minds whether to transfer or not. I have a low risk pregnancy as it stands, but I just want to go to the hospital that will be the best and the best experience. My logic was Royal women may have more competent / skilled staff and can support in any scenario to keep going there. But I’ve also been given advice that Sandringham might be a calmer, more relaxed (less cattle-like) experience of a big hospital and potentially less people in a room post birth. I know being relaxed is so important to a birth experience and perhaps the shorter journey could make a big difference. I would love to hear from mothers who birthed at either regarding their experience (I also hear Sandringham recently switched management so not sure how that’s going). Also any tips on how important the 10 min vs 30 minute drive drive will be when it comes to the big day!
