My 9 week old has been gaining very slowly and at about 7 weeks started getting really bad reflux. We finally got some pepcid and it seemed to help with overfeeding for soothing, and we changed to breastfeeding in the laid-back position which brought the spitting up down by 90%. Sounds great right? Well no because now he has silent reflux and as soon as I lay him down he wakes up immediately. I hold him up for 30 minutes to an hour after every feed. I do short feeds, I've cut out everything I can in my diet. Not only will he not sleep for more than 5 minutes(not exaggerating) without being on me, but now during the day I can't put him down at all. Even the baby carrier puts to much pressure on his tummy. The only way he isn't screaming is if I'm reclined and he's on my chest 24/7. I know this isn't sustainable and I have no idea what to do next.

I don’t think there’s a solution to this for real, my baby is 3 weeks old and keeps having spit ups with milk coming out of his nose when I lay him down. I hold him upright for at least 30 minutes after every feed and we still have this problem. This affects my sleep because he also takes a long time to burp, the hold him then before I lay him down, it’s already time for his next feed. The pediatrician hasn’t given me any other solution other than tell me it’s common with babies and he’ll grow out of it.

I had to switch my daughter to an amino acid formula and she had to be put on prevacid which is stronger than pepcid. But I'm not going to lie, my daughter made me hold her practically nonstop until she was probably 4-6 months old and it took until 8 months for her to be able to nap if it wasn't a contact nap and to play independently longer than 10 minutes and even now it's iffy and she's almost 9 months

I'm not going to lie to you, I sat myself up and put her on my chest and leaned us up against the side of the couch and kept her on the side of my chest that was up against the couch. I had no choice

It's not restful sleep but it's something

And as she got a bit bigger and we got a stronger medicine and better fitting formula we started cosleeping
