Reading time chaos

It really depends on his mood. Sometimes I'm forced to sit down and read other times he's having none of it. I find it best just to roll with what he wants. Asking him to choose a story helps or I let him turn the pages and just tell my own version. Or I make up stories while we're playing. It's all good for them even just flicking through books on their own they are learning so much from. Don't stress you're doing a great job x

Mine loves books but it’s totally a solo occupation of looking at the pages herself. Nil reading.

You don’t want to force it (not saying you do)
Let them go through this phase ♥️ to keep the good association she has with reading.
Could you let her have a book to “play” with and you read another?
Remember any exposure to words is amazing!
My little one loves to run to her book stand in her bedroom when we’re getting ready and will sit in her chair “reading”
And other times she’ll hand me a book and say “story” because she wants me to read it but if I’m honest she doesn’t sit still long enough for us to finish a decent one but I’ll just continue to read to her x
