Ear piercing recommendations

Rowan! DO NOT GO TO THE MALL OR CLAIRES. You can even research for wherever you live there’s pediatricians who also do it in a clinic or doctors office.

We are waiting until our girls ask. Our pediatricians office does them whenever their ready 🙂

i personally am choosing to wait till my daughter asks for them.. but, if you cannot wait until then PLEASE DON’T GO TO CLAIRE’S!! go to a reputable piercing/tattoo shop, we don’t want to risk causing permanent damage to baby’s ears by going to claire’s.

Personally waiting until my daughter asks. But, as someone with many piercings, do NOT go to Clare’s!!!!!! (Or anywhere that uses piercing “guns”) SERIOUSLY!!! I’ve gotten infections every single time I’ve gone to Claire’s and had to take the piercings out. Babies don’t have fully developed immune systems yet so it’s even worse for them. Go to a REPUTABLE tattoo and/or piercing shop. Anyone piercing at a reputable shop has gone through state mandated classes and apprenticeships before they can be licensed as a piercer (in CA). Claire’s sits teenagers down with a 10 minute video then lets them loose on the public… Plus there is wayyyyy more tissue damage done with a piercing “gun” than a piercing needle. (Gun=Blunt force trauma through the ear lobe. Needle=Clean cut through the tissue.) It drastically changes healing time and outcomes.

My daughters 13 months now I wanted to get them done when she was younger but we are finally taking her to a jeweler not Claire's!!

We got our girls done at Clare’s at 6 months. She’s never bothered with them and they’ve healed nicely

My daughter had hers done at Claire’s at 11 months (in May last year) as an early birthday present.
Had a little cry as expected but nothing compared to when having her jabs.
They healed lovely and we’ve had no problems with them.
Still get compliments now on how lovely they are and how much she suits them!

We went to a piercing only shop. They had the smallest needles and it went great! Everything healed really nicely
