Has anyone had a VQ scan for possible blood clots. As I need to have to have one and concerned due to the radiation and possible risk of baby having childhood cancer.

How many weeks are you ? Could they not wait a little longer and induce you before it ?

VQ scans are one of the safest. Mostly offered in pregnancy

Hi hun, I was admitted into hospital last week with suspected blood clots in the lung! I was scared and so worried ! I had the VQ scan and honestly I look back and think why did I cause myself so much stress , it was fine! Thankfully no blood clot ! The risk of radiation passing through to baby and causing the cancer is teeny tiny compared to the risk of you are to be walking around with a clot ! What I was recommended is to drink loads of water post scan as the radiation dye will then pass through quicker ! The amount of dye I had was 0.6ml and it’s 10ml saline down so very diluted ! This is coming from a girl after 4 losses and scared and nervous about lots of things! Xx
