Normal Holiday Pay

I need clarity on accrued normal holiday pay. In my company, we have 28days annual leave which expires if one doesn't make use of it before the end of the year.

But do I still lose my unused holiday because I am on maternity leave?

No you can ask your annual leave before maternity leave or ask if you can take it once you’re back.
I’ll take my annual leave before maternity leave

You can take it before MAT. I took 4 weeks before MAT. However, government a pushing companies to give back to employees once they return from MAT in the next financial yr. find out from your company what they are willing to give you. Don’t lose it

You shouldn't lose it, you should be able to carry it over but ALWAYS check your companies maternity policy YOURSELF and know what you get and what you're entitled to.

HR tried to tell me I needed special permission for mine at the end of my maternity. When I emailed them back fighting them on it. Turned out it was some temp who hadn't bothered to check the policy and just decided to tell me no without really knowing.

Sames happened again I'm still entitled to carry some over due to when I come back but my line manager and her line manager needed reminding of it!

Ask them if it can be rolled over.
If not they should pay you in full
