Is anyone else’s 3year6month old not potty trained yet?
We cannot even get him to sit on an adults toilet with toddler seat attached or without, have brought multiple style potties cannot get him to sit on one for more than 2 secs, how are we meant to potty train our son if we are unable to get him to sit on one? Please help any advice wanted/ needed 🙏🏻

You could go to the shops and buy his favourite character pants to try and encourage him to sit on the potty, try to get reward system in place, sticker chart?
I know it sounds harsh but children don’t like to sit in their own mess so put pants on and let him sit in his own mess for 5 minutes to understand the difference and that might try to push him onto the potty
Good luck x

You're not alone. Mine isn't either.
We have encouraged him to tell us when his been to the toilet which his got the hang of.
Also we've been through a lot of stuff at home in the last few months, that's not helped.
But when we were out the other day he did ask to buy paw patrol pants so I'm taking that as a win. Maybe take him to pick out some pants?

I found potty training so stressful and like you tried every possible potty/seat. I just got him some paw patrol pants which he was happy to put on and after a lot of accidents (and a new living room rug!!) he started understanding that he needed to go. Also got him a little toilet with a flush which he really liked until he started to use his toilet ladder and seat. Good luck - every kid is different so try not to stress ☺️

I didn’t think mine would be potty trained, even a mention of potty or the toilet seat ladder was met with screaming. He wouldn’t sit on it or wouldn’t try.
One day we just bit the bullet and said we don’t wear nappies during the day anymore. Spent two days with a bare bum and had one wee accident each day, put boxers on day 3 and had no accidents since then. We had some poo hesitation but once the first toilet poo was done he was fine after that.
Going bare bum was a game changer for him, he understood the sensation and using the toilet became an achievement to him. He was so pleased with himself.
Would really recommend this approach, it’s more intense on days 1 and 2 cause you have to watch them like a hawk but worked like a dream for us xx

My boy is potty trained with wees but still struggling with poos 😭
He just hides and holds it in the goes in his pants. He'll go in the potty if we get him there just as he's about to go and he's so happy and proud of himself but won't go there voluntarily.
No idea what to do as everyone says they'll do it eventually but doesn't seem to be getting there at all.

my son is perfectly potty trained ONLY when he’s naked from the waist down😩 the second he has any types of clothes on it’s like he totally forgets he’s not in a nappy, driving me crazy!

Try the oh crap potty training method. Book in a few days solely at home with bare bum & im sure the dots will start connecting for him x there’s lots of advice in the book too re different potty training issues x I trained my daughter at 2yrs 4 months following this method. I think week 2 my head fell off wondering if it was going to click for her, but I persevered (even after a fair few tears to my husband) and I’m glad I did cos it did all fall into place! You got this 💪 and your son 😍

My girl is still in pull ups for bed, trying to get her out of them so will try again from Monday😩
