What does your midwife care look like now? I’m 40+4 and had my 40 week appointment today and I thought they’d be really pushy on induction and sweeps, but other than a quick offer, which I declined, that was it! They just booked me in again for next Friday! Just wondered if anyone else is having more frequent appointments/monitoring?

I am from Australia so maybe a little different but my midwife’s are pretty easy going if baby has regular movements and I am healthy. They just said will induce me from 42 weeks. 40 weeks is just the “expected due date”. That doesn’t mean it should happen by then. I personally wouldn’t want any intervention during 40 weeks. Your body has been doing what it’s supposed to be doing the last 40 weeks, I’m sure it will continue to do what it’s supposed to do in the next week or two. Just try and be patient as there’s a lot of stress/anxiety from people on the internet wanting to push baby out earlier for no good reason. Remember if you do a sweep and your cervix isn’t ready anyway, it’s pretty much not useful. I’m 40 weeks too and even missed my midwife appointment to just enjoy and relax this week knowing that my body is just preparing for baby 🤰
