I smoked all through my first pregnancy and tested positive didn’t have any issues a social worker came in and spoke to me and hubby and that was it but this time I’m having an elective c section and wondering did they drug test you there?

I stopped smoking about a month before I had my son and my test came back clean I heard they only test like 2 weeks on the umbilical cord so stopping anytime before that may work

It depends what state you’re in if it’s legal in you’re state you’re fine if not you should stop 2 months before having the baby ❤️

The only other reason it’s probably better to tell them, is because if you need to be put to sleep at any point for an emergency it affects the anaesthetics and they need to give more than what they would for someone who doesn’t smoke x

I told them I smoked weed only. They tested me before and baby after emergency C-section and found we both showed positive. They said thank you for being honest and not testing for anything else.( in my state people say only weed but refuse test or test positive for fentanyl etc) No social workers came no one worried and baby is thriving and hitting milestones early.

U can ask them what test they do for mom and newborn cuz they are supposed to tell u what they test u for, it’s the law in every state regardless if weed is legal or not. When u go to any doctor, they have to legally tell u what they test for and u have the right to refuse

So i stopped smoking here in Michigan about a couple months before birth. I tested clean but my sons poop(here they test his first poop and others after in the hospital) it tested positive so I did get a case but because it's legal here and such and it's not like federal all she said to me was if I needed help with anything and that i understand safe sleep and keeping it away from the baby/toddler/teenager in the future. Then she closed the case after seeing where he sleeps.

Idr how they tested me, but i stopped smoking shortly after finding out i was pregnant. But after my emergency c section they asked for my daughters 1st pee diaper and tested her pee.
Obviously you’re meant to wait at least 6 weeks after giving birth but is it still safe to do it before the 6 weeks?

Posting as incognito as I don’t want to feel judged! I’ve tried getting hold of my health visitor but she never answers the phone.
My little boy is 13 weeks old and is breast fed, he won’t take to dummies or anything like that.
Since around maybe 11 weeks he has point blank refused to sleep in his next to me (he’s not been too much of a fan sleeping by himself in his own bed since birth but would sleep in there for a good 5 hours) at night time so for 2 weeks I’ve only been able to get him to sleep in bed next to me on the boob, now he also has not been able to sleep without boob in his mouth and if I move an inch or even go for a wee he kicks off immediately (he just wants to be on my boob throughout the whole night) nothing myself or my partner has tried has worked, I’ve tried pumping and giving him a bottle before bed but that made everything 10x worse to the point he refused to sleep for 4 hours. I’ve even tried leaving the room so my partner can try patting him off/ cuddling him but my boy screams to the top of his lungs until I come back and then he’s fine. He also sleeps absolutely fine during his naps too with the occasional fighting his nap time.
He’s had a sleep regression at 12 weeks and is now out of that sleep regression and is also teething but I just genuinely don’t understand why he’s is like this now! I honestly feel like a prisoner in/ tied down to my own bed at night and I’m also starting to dread bed time as I’m not getting a full nights sleep from where he’s stirring looking for my boob constantly/ looking to make sure I’m still there and where my body won’t let me be in a deep sleep where he’s sleeping next to me.
It’s genuinely getting to the point where I’m feeling down and emotional all the time and where I’m not sleeping properly I’m a lot more snappy with my partner/ others than usual.

Hey just wanted to check if it’s normal to be leaking a small amount of milk at 27 weeks? This is my second baby and my milk didn’t come in with my first until around 36 weeks🫣

Is 4 months supposed to be the hardest age? In terms of fussiness and sleep? 😴 😢
