My daughter isnt so keen on playing with other children at playgroups etc, more happy playing next to them but if they start trying to interact with her she will just smile and move onto something else. I'm not sure if she is just shy at the moment. She has a great time when she goes to these things, just likes keeping to herself at the moment maybe. Just thinking ahead to school...should I worry? My eldest wasn't like this at all. But she was a winter baby so had more time I guess.

My son was the same then he started going to nursery and even cries because he “wants to see his friends”.
He had extra support at nursery to help with a speech delay and social skills and he’s developed loads in both.
Does she have regular contact with other children her age? If yes and still not really interacting with them I’d be a little concerned or even mention it at the school she’s going to so they can give her a bit of an incentive to socialise

She plays with others (a lot more so with children she knows) but has started to "make friends" at soft play etc
