Driving post operation

I am due to have my gallbladder out on Friday! I am so scared 😩

I have minimal help at home & I have a 2.5 year old & a 4 month old. My partner can take a few days off work, but after that it is just me!

Anybody have any tips or recovery stories?

Also, how long did you not drive for?

I have had two c-sections and I found recovery pretty easy with them both. But I just feel petrified for this operation even though I assume as it is keyhole, that is is much less invasive!

I was able to look after my three month old and EFB two days after surgery alone, the recovery was fairly easy for me and felt like I had done a hard core work out for about a week or so but otherwise with paracetamol it was manageable. Just keep taking the paracetamol and ibuprofen even if you don’t feel like you need to for a few days is what a was advised!

I think I drove after three days, just short trips to the shop etc and then increased it. I did do my first drive alone and without my baby just incase.

I also went in at 11am and was out by 4:30/5pm with my baby so it’s was a quick turnaround. Hope the surgery goes well 🥰x

Everyone has varying experiences but I wish you a speedy recovery for me having mine out has been the best decision for my quality of life back!!

In my experience I had a pretty easy and straight forward recovery with minimal pain I was up and walking within an hour and they recommended walking to ease the gas out your body they pump you with so slow movements hourly is good and I was told not to hold my son but that wasn’t really possible although I refrained for the first 3 days I had no choice once my partner went back to work but I didn’t get any problems xx

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

2nd pregnancy after c section

I’m not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon but in the future possibly. I just wanted to know how is pregnancy after c section like my fear is having to go through another emergency operation or even putting strain on my incision during pregnancy

Baby Movements

Hello, I’m a FTM currently 18W5D pregnant. I’ve been getting this tugging feeling in my stomach after I eat, it’s uncomfortable but not painful. I don’t know whether that’s the baby moving or round ligaments pain.

I’ve also been getting round ligament pain which is either a sharp stabbing pain or a stretching sensation. These happens whether or not I’ve eaten while the tugging feeling is only after I’ve eaten.

So, could the tugging feeling be the baby or something else.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.
