I need advice I had a c section and my baby now is 7 months. We definitely want a second one, just not sure when it is safe to plan the second one. I would like a natural birth because we want more than two.
And I know for sure if the second one would be a c section then that's it, no more

I was told both times not to conceive within 18 months in order to let my body fully heal internally, let hormones settle etc.
I waited 20m to conceive (pregnant first cycle) and had another low risk, easy pregnancy with no issues. Chose an elective again and was told I had no uterine thinning and barely any internal scar tissue. I’m cleared for baby 3 but will wait again because it was so low risk. I’m planning 4 kids and my obstetrician said that’s totally fine with sections. I’ve had no healing issues, no shelf, no body changes, back to normal fitness and exercise etc.
The longer you heal, the easier on your body (which is forever), the lower the risk to baby and the higher your chance of a VBAC.

I had my first c section December 2023, had placenta previa and transverse lie (ivf conception)
We went for our sibling round when my first was 9 months, shockingly it worked and I had my second c section July 2025.
No previa this time but transverse again, no massive risks and no one commented on the gap between surgeries, however it is recommended to wait at least 18 months to get pregnant to minimise any risks.

I was told similar to Sarah. So not to convieve within 18 months- 2 years to allow you internals to heal properly. I think the usual limit to c sections is 3 so you should be fine dependant on internal healing that is

I was advised not to get pregnant for 12-18months after c-section. Your second pregnancy after a c-section, it is up to you if you have another c-section or natural but if you have 2 c-sections in a row then the 3rd has to be a c-section. If you are hoping to have a natural birth then the longer you leave to heal the better.
