PPD?

Hi mums, has anyone thought they had ppd or if it was just to many things on your plate?

What did you do? Also recommendation on what to do?
My youngest baby is currently 10 months old but have been dealing with this since he was 6 months. Dr did say I was “just dealing with a lot” but things aren’t getting any easier.

Thank you.

I thought I had it but was in denial. Wasn’t until my daughter was about 12 months before I seeked help. I recommend going to a doctor asap even if you suspect you have it. I was put on medication and it helped me so so much

I got mine at around 3-6 months. I ended up getting support from Karitane and the hospitals perinatal service. There is also gidget foundation. I didnt bother with my GP as it was tough to get into a GP around that time, plus having a baby to take to appointments. I also went to the Medicare mental health centre first for some initial support, you can walk in.

Thank you all for sharing as my children’s father doesn’t believe in depression but I know it’s not only affecting me but the kids aswell

You can ask your doctor for a mental health care plan or try an antidepressant. Regular exercise and quality sleep also helps if you can. I know it's harder to sleep when they're young. We did co-sleeping until the teething stopped.

Is it cheating

My husband just told me that at work he and his male friends/coworkers pinch each others nipples as like a joke, I think it’s inappropriate and it’s cheating in a way and he does not agree he thinks it’s just funny and nothings wrong with it

A full 8 hours

My 1 month and five week old newborn just slept 8 hours. I genuinely don’t know who blessed me, but good lord am I thankful. We really only woke up a few times to put her binky back in her mouth. She did just got home from the NICU and adjustment was pretty hard for the past few nights, so she certainly deserves a lot of sleep. Just happy to see her feeling more comfortable.

Baby hates me?

Why does my baby hate me. All she wants from me is to be fed and then screams and screams at me, she settles with everyone else and i don't understand what im doing wrong. I feel like the worst mum ever and am really struggling.

Is nursery a bit out of line?

Today I learned that my son was “seen by someone” when picking him up. Apparently speech therapist saw him in the nursery to evaluate him and I only learned about it on pick up.

No warning, no even proper explanation of what triggered it. With one staff member saying “he is not speaking at all”, and another dismissing it and saying it’s completely normal.

And everyone seem to dismiss my shock as he is the most chatty happiest child at home.

So it triggers me that instead of finding a way to get him “open up” and make him feel secure so he starts speaking naturally. They now decided he needs to be “fixed” and probably push him into more anxiety with it. Without even consulting us.

Witching hour??

Pretty sure my 7 week old has a strict “lose all chill at 6pm” policy 😅

Evenings = crying, pacing, questioning my life choices 😂

Fed, burped, cuddled… still a bit of a mystery. Any tips from mums who survived this stage? How did you get through the evening chaos?!
