Just a phase?

Hi mamas I’ve tried searching for this topic before making this post & I’m out of luck. My son just turned 11 months & since birth he’s loved baths & now all of a sudden he reaches to be picked up & screams his head off..? Not sure why, he’s never slipped or fell, water has never been too hot or too cold.. I’ve tried feeding before hand, tried adding more interesting toys!! I feel defeated!

Is he throwing a tantrum cause he dosent want bath time to be over?

Or is this before bath time?

If you’ve gotten in with him I don’t think it’s something that’s frightening him since he seen you were ok in the bath

Have you tried not running a bath? And maybe having a tub nearby with clean water

Avatar

My daughter started doing that too and I just tried showering with her which she loved. Its a little slippery when shes soapy but my husband stays nearby to help/dry and dress her

Or maybe just leaving the faucet running maybe he would enjoy playing with that while you clean him

My daughter was like this for the past like 4 months and it made me so sad I stopped doing baths as much cause I felt so bad. But I started wrapping a muslin blanket around her shoulders, was more careful about covering her face when pouring water on her hair, and tried different toys and finally she fell in love with the rubber water stopper 🤣 now she LOVES baths. Out of no where lol. You and him will both be ok!!

My daughter does this too!! She's ganna be 1 in April and the only way I can clean her now if if I take a shower with her and just have her tub in the shower so I can set her down

My son has displayed similar symptoms and it’s very puzzling. Did things change, like did you start washing his hair more causing water to get in his face and he may not like that sensation? Did the frequency change from then to now ? If there is a change in that , then maybe that is the case. Try a little calming music on your phone while bathing. Maybe he still is cold try putting a small wash cloth on his body while you use the other to wash. Hope something in this helps I am dealing with the same situation

The last time I gave her a bath she was splashing around laughing hysterically and I just sat there in awe I was so so happy to see her happy in the bath. I get it. Just keep trying new things!

Showering with my baby? Is it unsafe/ wrong?

Is it weird to take a shower with my baby boy? Is it a bad thing? I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately because I can never shower I’m 11 weeks pp and my husband started a new job. He is gone all day to work and I can’t just leave my baby alone so I can shower. I can’t hear the monitor over the running water and even if he is sleeping if I leave the room he wakes up and starts crying and doesn’t stop unless I pick him up and if I put him down again he cries again and I’m against letting my baby just cry it out. So I’ve been neglecting my own self care and hygiene and it’s really taking a toll on my mental health. So I guess what I’m really wondering is it wrong, and is it unsafe?

Am I over reacting?

MIL came over on sunday to help with childcare, I'm heavily pregnant so she said why don't you go for a nap while I'm here.
I had a 2 hr nap upstairs and during that time she fell asleep on the sofa for 1.5 hrs. I know because we have security cameras round the house which i looked at later on after she'd gone.
My daughter slept for 30 mins on her, on the arm of the sofa and then the rest of the time she was left with the TV on.
I'm really annoyed because we have a wooden floor, a coffee table that she tries to climb on, she had hair ties which she often pulls out and tries to chew therefore a choking risk.
She's 20 months old.
Am I over reacting?
The worst thing is when I came downstairs after my nap, she 'she's not had much sleep only about 10 minutes'. But idk how she'd know that because my daughter woke up ages before she did.

Poo Help Needed 😱

My baby is approaching 6 months and is exclusively breastfed. A midwife warned us to expect that by this point, he would be pooing once a week and would make a big song and dance about it.

My baby poos once or twice a day, sometimes three times, without fail. Probably one in three is very vinegary, and they are in general smelly - I can tell he's pooed on smell alone.

They are also fairly explosive. He's in a larger size nappy than his weight to try and contain the poo as we have frequent blowouts! He also generally only poos in his car seat unless it's first thing in the morning!

Other than pooping, he seems completely healthy. He has maintained appropriate weight gain at his last check (which admittedly was at 3 months), but he's chubby and round. He also has plenty of wet nappies. I'd love to hear from people as to whether this is normal or whether I should be worried that this is an allergy or something!!!

How many poos does your EBF baby do a day / week? Please let me know!!!

Painful bowel movements

Hi all,

My 11 month old has incredibly painful bowel movements, it looks as though her poo is so large (wide) that its agony to get out so she screams. Once the first part is out (usually with some help) the rest comes out fine.

The GP has given her laxatives but this has been going on for months and she can't take them everyday so I try to limit them.

Anyone else have this? She has CMPA but does have anything with cows milk so it's not that.

Thanks x

Obsessed with hands

Is anyone else’s LOs obsessed with their hands?! My daughter is constantly sucking on her hands and sometimes will try to put her whole fist in. She also has a dummy and is getting frustrated as I think she also wants to suck her hands at the same time but then knocks the dummy out… anyone else in the same boat? And are you cleaning hands regularly?!
