Anxiety’s going wild now..

For more context I’m 27 weeks today Thursday the 26th March! I went into Maternity assessment on Monday just gone as I was just worried about little man’s movements after being there on the monitor it went green, they did a quick scan said he seemed fine and they could see the waters were good etc! Anyways I had given them a urine sample and I’ve now had the results back saying I’ve got a uti and then something else saying group b strep? I’m now laid in bed worrying my head off, they have told me to collect some antibiotics today but I’ve got my glucose test currently fasting I go into the midwife’s at 8:40 will it be fine to collect after that and I guess I’m just sat thinking is everything gonna be okay? Sorry my minds just going everywhere at the minute

Hi! Midwife here! Group b strep is a bacteria we all have in our system (normally in our intestines), the only difference is that some women get a “transportation” of this bacteria to their vaginas during pregnancy and that means you’ll need to take some antibiotics in order for your baby to avoid getting the bacteria on their mouths during birth because that can cause some complications. It’s as easy as taking some antibiotics during birth (at least that’s how we manage that in Spain, unless it causes a UTI, in that case, we treat the UTI and also give some antibiotics during birth).
It’s nothing major, really, it’s very common.
Do not think too much about it, since there’s nothing you can do other than taking care of the UTI and wait till birth :)

Feeling guilty on first born

I’m being induced on Friday and I’ve just put my little girl to bed and am so upset that it won’t be just us anymore. Obviously we’re so excited for her new sister but I just feel guilty and sad that things won’t be the same again.

Does anyone else feel like this? 😞😞😞

Waiting on my NIPT results for 9 days has sent into several panic attacks and what feels like the start of a major depression spell.

I’m literally disgusted with how much anxiety this test has brought me. If there is something wrong with it just return it already Jesus Christ.

Goal weight gain:

So I’m 6 weeks pregnant with my second baby. With my first baby I gained the maximum recommended weight weight for my starting weight I was 165lbs (give or take a little) I got up to 190lbs.
With this pregnancy my starting is 148lbs my goal is to gain no more than 25lbs and for the first trimester try not to gain any weight at all.

I have people in my life that think I need to just eat what ever and not take care of my self (in the sense of eating whatever I want and not working out anymore) because I’m pregnant. Now don’t get me wrong I eat my cravings but I don’t over indulge and I also am over all more into healthier and filling meals.

I get hungry about 4-6 times a day and if I don’t eat I get seriously sick so I have adjusted my life to make it work.

My poll is: do/did you have really bad cravings?

37 weeks ! 😬

I literally only have two doctor appointments left until I'm supposed to be due . I'm super excited and nervous at the same time, but I went to the doctor and I'm only one centimeter dilated so I'm just curious if any other first time moms gave birth earlier than their due date or is normal to go past your due date ? TIA ☺️
