Growth scans

Do you remember how much your baby was predicted to weigh at your last scan vs their actual weight?

With my first they said 3.3 kg at 38 w and baby was born 3.1 kg two weeks later. I am pregnant again and having growth scans just curious to see how often they get it wrong.

So with my son I had a growth scan at 34 or 35 weeks I believe, they didn't estimate birth weight but they said at that time he was 7.3lbs. He was born 40+2 weeks at 8.9lbs

Mine was waaaay off. My last scan was coming in at 5 pounds 10oz however she was born 8 pounds 4oz. She was 8 days late mind so she probably did more growing in there 🤣

they estimated him to be 7lbs at the scan and he was 10lbs 😭

I can’t remember my weights but mine were way off. I was sent for growth scans when originally the community midwife measured my fundal measurement as her being in the 3rd centile. I was sent for a scan within the hour to find out she was frank breech (basically folded in half) and was actually measuring 89th centile! All my growth scans were between 87th and 90th centile. She was born at 39+2 at 7lb 11oz which was exactly 50th. She was just a very long baby with long feet and legs x

Estimated 7lbs 7oz the day of birth…born one hour later and was 6lb 13oz. They were pretty unreliable for me

She was supposed to be 7.8lbs she was 8.1

My daughters was pretty spot on. They estimated her 7lb 2oz she came the next day at 7lb 1oz. With my son I cant remember what they estimated him at at my 32 week scan but he came at 34 weeks weighing 7lb 14oz.

For my daughter, my scan at 38 weeks and 3 days she was measuring at 3638g. She was born 40 weeks exactly weighing 3920g.

With my 1st he was estimated small (2nd - 3rd percentile) he did in fact come small at 4lb 11oz

My 2nd was estimated between 7-8lb and he was 5lb 11oz x

What age are you giving chocolate from and how often??

No judgement, I’m genuinely confused. I worry about sugar intake etc as grandparents both side have diabetes however I also know can’t cut it out completely or may overdo it when older. Wondering what age everyone began with chocolate etc

Honest truth about C sections

I am a first time mother having an elective c section. I’ve been told that it’s a shame I am doing an elective as thank God my baby is healthy. I need to know is a C section better than a birth? If you have had both please share your experience below !

Is it normal pain or something more?

I’m not really sure where to post this but figured there might be someone here that could shed some light.

I am 23 weeks tomorrow, so far a normal pregnancy, a couple of times I’ve had some light spotting but each time I’ve been checked out and everything is fine! I have had a previous c-section and have been told I have a low-lying placenta so am waiting for another scan to check it isn’t growing into my scar tissue.

The last few days I have had such bad pain, it is worse when I move but comes and goes with the more I am doing. It is primarily in between my shoulder blades, just below my ribs and across the middle of my tummy (in line with my belly button), I also get it in the lower part of my tummy, mainly on the right side. It feels like a severe stitch.

I went to triage last week for spotting and don’t want to rush back there if it’s something that is normal. Any ideas? 🩵

Two parties on the same day, WWYD?

Our DS was invited to his nursery best friend's birthday party one month in advance, we immediately confirmed. The party is 2 to 4pm.

About a week later we got another party invite from some long time friends. The party is the same day but from 12 to 2pm on the opposite side of the city, so it will take a 40 minute drive to get from one to the other. This child used to be best friend but they haven't been available to meet for the last year, so I was thinking about skipping this party. However, my child keeps asking about them and it is possible for us to attend, just complicated. So thought I would go and leave early (stay for hour and a half instead of 2 hrs) and go to the other party around 10 mins late.

Is it too rude to leave the first party early? We are staying for most of it. Or is it better no just not go?

What would you do?
