I’d be ringing triage as you’re in preterm labour. Nipple stimulation or labour juices are not recommended until 37 weeks.

You definitely need to speak to your MW or triage. It’s far too early to be trying to help bring on labour.

Ideally, you should start trying to kickstart labour by doing all of the above from 37 weeks. If you end up going into full labour now, that’s preterm. I do not know if you want that. But call your midwife or ring triage.

These sound like braxton hicks to me. I was having them for weeks before going into actual labour. I had a day of contractions every 7 minutes, and then they just stopped. I didn’t give birth for another 2 weeks after that, and had 3 sweeps in the last week (as was overdue).

Although it’s ‘okay’ for baby to come from 37 weeks, it’s really best for them to stay in as long as possible.

I know when full term is. I’ve had two kids. But you shouldn’t be TRYING to bring labour on this early. You shouldn’t want your baby to come early as they still aren’t fully ready then, even tho yes it is technically ok.

Anything under 37 weeks is Preterm ! There’s no such thing as “only a few days early” or “only a week from full term. Preterm is preterm and if you want a fully well formed, healthy and good working lungs for your baby waiting for full term which starts from 37 weeks is best to do rather than deliberately or intentionally trying to put yourself in labour before then !
