are you planning on teaching your kids about the concept of virginity?

I think you need to be talking to your child about their virginity regardless of religion.

Although I am religious I answer the pool saying yes not religious Even though I am religious My mom had sex before marriage I had sex before marriage we will teach our child about the Bible but we will also teach him that you are forgiven and it's okay to send but repent because God understands if you sin just don't sin 24/7

We will teach her what is it, and safe and consensual sex. We won’t be pushing waiting till marriage, but we won’t be encouraging throwing it away carelessly. We are not religious.

virginity is such a damaging concept in my opinion and it’s often rooted in misogyny and pedophillia. things like consent and safe sex will be taught but not the concept of virginity - it’s unnecessary and cruel imo

I find it misogynist to claim every cultural concept that isn't modern or fitting with today's culture was made by "men" rather than society as a whole. There were social benefits far greater than any benefit to men - in many ways men benefit far more from the loss of that value

So i regret losing my virginity how I did. And thats on me. I want my child to know what virginity means but know that she should lose it to someone she loves. Someone she cares about. And when she feels ready. I also want her to know what can happen if she has sex. Idc if she waits for marriage. I just dont want her to regret it.

Virginity is a social construct to shame women. I'll teach my son and daughter about the importance of safe, consensual sex, but the word virginity doesn't need to be a part of that conversation.

all i’ll be teaching mine about virginity is the fact that it’s not a real thing and is a made up concept used to oppress people, mainly women. i will also be teaching them that it’s important to be safe when having sex and to wait until they’re grown and able to make safe decisions.

I am planning on doing it the day when I have my own kids my was too strict to a point that she never sat us down talk with us about virginity or sex I am planning on changing it i am religious too my mom was religious but she too strict she was unapproachable.

Virginity as a concept, yes, it having a negative meaning no. My mom was crazy religious, and put so much weight on being a virgin and saving yourself for marriage, and all three of her daughters had children before they were married so if anything that just proves how untrue it is, if anything I will teach my children that they should wait for themselves until they find the right person that they choose is the right person, preferably when they’re older, but they will feel comfortable and safe to come talk to me about things and they will not be judged for their choices of 1/if they are ready to have sex and they will know about safe sex because I don’t want my daughter pregnant at 18 like I was.

We don’t talk about virginity, we talk about safe, consensual sex and what that means and looks like.
