My husband and I have been trying for 7 years for our first and just found out we’re pregnant a few weeks ago! I am a type 1 diabetic, with a history of uncontrolled sugars (they have normalized since I found out), so I am high risk. I am VERY scared I’m going to screw up this pregnancy somehow. We don’t go to the OB for another 2 weeks. What can I do to set myself up for the most success in this pregnancy? I’m so anxious.

Don’t put so much pressure on yourself. And don’t blame yourself for having a chronic disease that you didn’t choose for yorself. Take care of your mental heath - it’s hard to make informed decisions when (only worried). Keep taking care of yourself as you know how to as a diabetic and write down questions for your obgyn and make sure you note and understand the answers. Advocate for yourself and meanwhile you can see a primary care provider to get your hcg tested and to seek advice if you feel like it would empower you.
