Birth plan for c-section

I’m having my c-section 2 weeks today (crazy!!) and still haven’t wrote out my birth plan for it. I honestly have no clue what to put on it or how to lay it out.

Please could anyone share theirs? TIA!!🫶🏻

Congrats!! You’ve made it to the finish line!

My only “plan” was skin to skin immediately, which was already part of the standard of care. Some people do music. They did the standard delayed cord clamping, but cut it themselves as I was bleeding a lot.

What I would do next time:
-wait to insert catheter until I am numb (I could feel it and it burns lol). They could have waited literally 30 more seconds.
-preventative medication for nausea and itchiness (they can give you something through an IV but I didn’t know this! Would have avoided my vomiting and itchiness later that was only cured with Benadryl)
-ask for anesthesiologist to provide regular updates of what’s going on

Good luck!

who you want with you, if you would like specific music played etc, whether you want your partner or support person to take pics (if hospital allows), if you want vitamin k shot for baby, delayed cord clamping, skin to skin (golden hour), if you plan to breast, formula or combo feed, if you want your partner to cut the cord, feeding support, do you want to keep your placenta for encapsulation, if they offer clear drape to watch baby come out - do you want that?

hope this helped a bit!

I had my C-section in June, and didn't do a birth plan. The community midwife asked about my preferences with regards to whether I wanted the curtain lowering ect, which was checked again on the day of my C-section in case I changed my mind, but I didn't actually write anything down.
I had a vaginal birth with my first, and I did do an actual birth plan for that

I made mine based on the options on the checklist here.

It made me consider a lot of things I wouldn't have on my own

Bump..

Just hit 26 weeks pregnant and I CANNOT stop comparing my bump to other people! It doesn’t help with hearing “oh you’ve popped” or “where did that come from” every bloody day🙄
What are our 26 week bumps looking like? This photo was taken today and I am 26+1

Oscar Michael Leonard

My little boy born 5th April at 18:15 weighing 6lbs 11oz. He kept it interesting by turning from breech on the day of my csection on April 1st. Started induction on his due date the 4th and he he was here within 24 hours. So happy and hope everyone else has an amazing birth experience <3

Icky or not?

To cancel my gym i need to prove that im pregnant (they want a scan photo). Now, from a company/business perspective I totally get it. However, how many women are cancelling their membership because they're pregnant? It feels icky. Like what if I had had a miscarriage before my scan - i'd have to prove that? What if I dont want to share my scan photo? I come and pee on a stick in front of you? It just feels a bit anti-woman and not well thought through

More info for cesarean

Hi everyone, 26 weeks, just had my follow up scan after finding out at 20week (done at 22w due to scheduling) that I have complete placenta Privia. My dr said it was still early and can move as baby grows however today at our second scan, he said as it hasn’t moved in 4 weeks, and he is concerned that it may not move. He started taking about c sections and the high risks associated with it, and my head just wants to explode. I have had two medically perfect unmedicated births, and now I have to have my worst fear of being cut open come to life. I am absolutely terrified of having a c section. The whole reason I’ve done unmedicated both times is because I hate hospitals, I hate hate hate needles and how not only do I have to give birth in a hospital but also have to have a cesarean, and my entire medical team is going to be changed. I’m just so heartbroken and terrified. Im not sure exactly what I’m looking for, I guess just reassuring words or advice. Thanks

When did your pregnancy sickness get better?

I’m almost 8 weeks pregnant with my second, and the sickness this time is horrific. With my first little boy I had zero sickness at all, my pregnancy was a breeze. But this time it’s taken me out, and ofc I wasn’t expecting this as my first was so easy. I am gagging every 10 minutes almost throwing up, I am exhausted and I can hardly do anything, I can hardly eat and drink, I’ve never felt so ill in all my life.
When does this subside, because the mum guilt is eating me alive as I am feeling so unwell I cant do much with my little boy

(Fyi I’ve already had an early scan and there is one healthy baby ❤️)

Movements

I don't want to get paranoid like I did last pregnancy.
How movement changes towards the end? Im 37 weeks. I stopped Aspirin at 35 weeks.
I still fell her moving. Its just less intense.
Im not worried. I just want to make sure less forceful kicks are normal.
