Do you use under 6 months? I know they say 6m+ but real world are we using it?

Just to add don’t plan on having LO sitting out in the sun but we can’t avoid it completely

I’m not planning on using it until 6 months. Will just keep him out of the sun as much as we can.

My son was born in March last year and it was sunny and really hot every day until he was 6 months. We didn’t use suncream on him until 6 months as we honestly just kept him out of the sun.

When we were out he was in the pram most of the time and we would use a snooze shade to make sure he was always covered. If we stopped in a pub and sat outside we would sit in the shade or get a table with an umbrella. If we went to the park we would either sit in the shade, get a little pop up tent to put him in or keep him in the pram. It’s definitely possible to keep them out of the sun 99% or the time. The other 1% would be very very limited such as when they’re in the pram and you change direction and the sun hits them for a minute. Any longer and I would pop a muslin over the body part that the sun is hitting.

They say they shouldn’t be in direct sun under 6 months which is why you shouldn’t need sun cream.

Their skin is so delicate, j was always afraid to. I did hat's and shade and s fan when the sun and heat were unavoidable

I would keep her in the shade and covered as good as you can, thin breathable long sleeves and trousers, a wide-brimmed sun hat that covers face and neck area. There are summer clothes with SPF 50 for babies.

Another option, to complete the protection is to use a natural mineral based sun protection on her hands and feet in case she gets exposed to the sun, like tallow with non-nano zinc oxide, beeswax and Shea butter.

When we were out with the pram, we used the sun protector and an umbrella that you can attach to the pram, so our little was in the shade always

I asked our pediatrician about this last summer because my youngest was born in February but we have a pool membership and an older child (who was 3 at the time). Obviously keeping them out of the sun is the best, but if you truly can’t, sunscreen is better than no sunscreen.

I kept her covered as much as possible with hats, long sleeve swimsuits, even water shoes but there were a few times before she was 6 months I used small amounts on her and she was fine.

I didn’t even realise sunscreen was 6m+. I used it on my little one just recently on his hands and feet. He had just turned 5m.
We were in France and whilst he was mostly covered his hands and feet kept popping out the pram and it was too warm for socks so I put sunscreen on them to be on the safe side so they didn’t burn

Sleep!!

Our little girl at 10 weeks just slept from 730pm to 430am. She fell asleep on her dad and in bringing her upstairs at 10pm she was still fast asleep so decided as she was fed just before that to leave her until she stirs. She’s usually a good sleeper on the first stint of the night with atleast 6/7 hours but tonight she’s gone 9! Besides a little leakage as I’m exclusively breastfeeding I have no concerns. Would this one off affect my milk supply? For context when she woke she fed for 10 mins which is average for her and was content/ didn’t seem to be struggling.

Cleaning girls privates

My baby is 3 months old, I noticed she was red in between her lady parts. Which would make sense as to why she didn’t want to be sat and kept straightening up her body ☹️ I cleaned with warm water and sudocream.

Mammas with girls, what’s the best wipes? Or do you just use warm water and a cotton pad? How do I keep her little area red free? Does she need a bigger size nappy also? Any advice welcome!

Sex

Has anyone else not done the deed after giving birth yet?

I am 13 weekspp and feeling guilty for not spending 'quality' time with my partner. He's been very supportive and that it's just I feel so tired at the end of the day I just don't have anything left in me.

We also have a 3 year old and I do the housework and I also exclusively pump so any free time I have gets taken up. My 13 weeks old girl doesn't like being held by anyone else apart from me or my partner so handing them off for a few hours wouldn't work she also contact naps during the day which is fine as she sleeps through the night in her cot. Once they go to sleep I'm in the kitchen washing up bottles and preparing for my last pump of the day and MOTN pump I don't usually end up going to bed until 11:30pm.

Footless pajamas

Why do sleepers become footless at 12 months?! Do they really regulate body better? Are you still putting them in sleep sacks? Using socks? Or giving a blanket? ((Room ranges in the 70s))
