Does this look safe?

Does this look ok? I’ve taken the newborn insert out as his head is taller & I can’t fully get his shoulders under the straps with it in

Please mind the spit up he did it as soon as I sat him down

I’d say he’s around 15 pounds now & is wearing 3/6 month clothes

looks safe to me , should be no more than a two finger gap under the straps x

Tbh, it might be a bit early to remove the inserts. The NICU team advised us to leave them in for as long as possible and said people often remove them too early. They are meant to be quite snug with plenty of head and neck support. His head doesnt seem to be fully supported either side. Do you have a picture of it with the inserts in?

There doesn’t seem to be any neck support on the sides. I’d personally squeeze him into the insert. Even if it means he screams for an hour in the car if he’s uncomfortable because if you weigh up the pros and cons (an unfortunate / life changing event can be avoided during an accident), it’s still better in my opinion. Sorry don’t want to sound too harsh. x

Sleep during the day.

My nearly 4 week baby girl loves her sleep at night and will easily settle back down after her feeds however, during the day I struggle to get her to sleep or when she does she will sleep in my arms, if I try to transfer her to her cot she wakes straight away. Any suggestions on how I can help her or what I’m doing wrong?

How many words is good for 18 months? My child says 22 words that I’ve counted and I feel proud but is this just average lol

Wake windows a myth for some?

My baby seems to laugh in the face of wake windows. We wake around 6-7am, he might fall asleep after his breakfast feed for a little bit but his only other long nap is our lunchtime walk in the carrier. Otherwise he is awake for hours on end but seemingly quite happy.

If anyone has a newborn who also doesn’t conform to the whole 60m rule, don’t worry, your baby isn’t broken and you’re not doing anything wrong, just go with their flow!

Bed Time - 4 months old

Hey mamas! How is everyone coping with an early bed time routine at 4 months old? My old friend chat gpt reckons that an early bed time of 7pm-9pm should be the norm but my girl will not go to bed until after 10pm 😭. Is it too early for sleep training or do most just follow their baby’s tired cues? X

Did anyone else’s epidural not work?

Writing retrospectively here. I had a epidural with my 1st baby in 2025 and it pretty much had no effect, I was in absolute agony the whole time (hours). Anyone else experience this?

Midwife now says this isn’t normal and I shouldn’t have been in pain.
Due my 2nd in 6 weeks and debating weather I should go for one again. 😣
