Hi Mamas, please help me here. I am absolutely tired and devastated. My baby is continuously refusing to lay down flat, even if we cosleep from 4 weeks old. I can’t do it anymore. He is 11 weeks old and I cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel. He sleeps really well, but will only sleep in our arms. He may give a 1-2 hour stretch at night laying flat but can sleep for 8 hours if in arms. I have tried cosleeping, that did not work as well. Pediatricians keep saying it’s normal. How is this normal?

Do you think he may have acid reflux?

Did you ask him why? Is your baby bottle fed?

It is totally normal and if you're not a single mum I suggest you do shifts with one of you sitting up with baby asleep on you then swap over, try swaddling, making sure the moses basket is warmed before attempting a put down etc. Normal doesn't mean easy of course....this is such a hard stage but it'll soon pass.

Craniosacral therapy!!

Try paced bottle feeding (watch on youtube)/ burping more frequently, being careful about the amount of milk given at 1 time. Put something small under the head of babys mattress to elevate him. An IBCLC can help with bottle feeding & formula issues too, not just breastmilk. Chiro or craniosacral therapy are other options.
As a mom of 2, I learned that cosleeping & using the 6 S of safe sleep are best for my family. Baby & I get more sleep this way. I can comfort my baby & meet her needs more quickly & with less crying.

My baby has silent reflux & our pediatrician tolds us to put her bed on an incline.
Her back is still flat but the whole mattress is a gradual incline. Pediatrician recommended 15-25 degrees.
It worked really well 😊

Most of them don't like lying flat and it can be particularly problematic if they have reflux or colic.
Have you tried chest sleeping?
Hi everyone!
I found myself in a VERY unique situation 2 months ago. I found out I was pregnant with my baby boy, literally the night before I officially gave birth to him. I had all of 16 hours to mentally and emotionally prepare myself to bring another life into the world. Mind you. He is my first (and hopefully only) child. There are no words to describe the mental change that took place while finding out about my cryptic pregnancy, especially after being my entire life, that I would NEVER be capable of having children. Is there anyone else out there, who has gone through this?

Mentally I’m not doing very well.

My little one has a temp of 38.3 it’s risen from earlier today after giving nurofen, calpol was given before bedtime. He was sick before having calpol but his breathing is quite fast. No dipping chest just fast breathing.
My partner is saying just let him sleep
I’m wondering about going to A&E

I’m not fully co sleeping.. just in the morning if my baby 7 month old wakes up for her third or fourth time 😭 she’ll come in to bed with me to push her wake up time to 7:30am as I really can’t do any earlier.
She was in her next to be crib and now transitioned to a travel cot with a good firm mattress I bought separately.
Issue is .. my husband snores a lot and sometimes wakes her up..
I snore a lot since pregnancy and I guess my baby is used to it but he isn’t and he can’t sleep with me snoring ..
so he’s been sleeping downstairs on the couch for the last few months..
I don’t know if the issue is my snoring or that he wakes her up with his snoring that we don’t sleep together anymore. And I do think he’s slowly getting upset about it all..
her room is fully kitted out but I’m just not ready yet to move her there. Also I have been EBF.
So my question is how do your husband/partners take it? Does it affect your relationship over few months/years..
