Ladies, curious what your thoughts are on ordering 0-3 months clothes? My boy is coming in July and I’m starting to order his clothes. 0-3M clothes seem too tiny and babies grow quickly they say so I feel the boy will only wear them for a little while. That’s why I always tend to order 6months clothes instead but I also worry he won’t have anything proper to wear in his first few months. I don’t want to invest too much on clothes but also need to dress him. I have second hand stuff from friends but want to buy his first clothes brand new. Can’t decide, need help from experienced mammas!

Those first few months you will end up with so many clothes as people end up buying you so many things like babygrows.
I would buy 0-3 too plus newborn. My son was 7lb 3oz and he was in newborn till 2 months old then 0-3 till 5 months old. Estimated weights don’t mean he won’t be small in clothes when born.
Clothes too big are a risk for babies too, you want form fitting to avoid them sliding down into oversized things or covering their face. If I put my newborn in 0-3 or 3-6 it would have drown him.

Honestly buy a couple of things and then leave it as people might gift you things and you can literally order next day if you need more.
I didn't buy my baby any clothes under 6m. Just sleesuits and then when he was born and I knew what size he was in I bought a few outfits from next

I’ve had two huge babies and they still wore 0-3 for at least 2 months and 3-6 would have drowned them when they were born. I have bought some vests, sleepsuits, short sleeve rompers, a cardigan and thin jacket in 0-3 for my July baby

My baby was only 5lbs 12oz when he was born and had only just gone into 0-3 at around 2 months! I reckon my baby can still wear 0-3 until at least 4 months old! I found some 0-3 were massive ! Xxx

They do grow quickly but you’ll need the clothes. With both my kids they were in newborn clothes for about 1-2 weeks and then swapped to 0-3 which passed quickly too but I kept changing them up to multiple times a day and night because of blowouts. Basic vests and sleepsuits with zippers will do

Buy a few in different sizes! We ended up wasting a lot of stuff in bigger sizes where our little one is on smaller size! 14 months now and still fits in 6-9 months 😂

My son is currently 4 weeks old and he was 6lb 12oz andwore newborn/first size for 2 full weeks and is currently in 0-3 and they are still slightly big on him so I definitely would recommend getting 0-3 and newborn first size. We got 9 baby grow in fist size from asda no baby body in first size he went straight into 0-3. Around 20 baby grow in 0-3 and similar in long sleeved and short sleeved 0-3 baby body. Asda sales have started today I would recommend taking advantage of the sales on multi pack 😅

My baby boy was born on 29th March via c section and I was 38+4 weeks, he weighed 7lb 14oz. They will also lose some weight in that first week, which is normal. My LO took almost 2 weeks to get back to his birth weight but he did get a little longer in that time, as he grew out of newborn (up to around 7.8lb) in just over a week.
We have first size/up to 1 month for him now (up to around 9/10lb) which fit lovely. 0-3 is still too big for him.
I’d say get a handful of first size at least. If you go full term or just generally have a larger baby, newborn might not be necessary.
Also, Vinted is great for next to new clothes. You’ll realise just how many baby clothes people have that have never been worn or only worn once. You can pick up some lovely things for those ‘might only wear once or not at all’ clothes that you’ll end up with too.

My baby was born 10lb and even she wore some newborn sizes, granted it was only for a few weeks but we still needed them. She’s now 9 weeks old, weighs 13lbs and is still in 0-3 months, although is just starting to grow out of them. People knew we were having a big baby so actually avoided getting us smaller sizes, so I bought these myself and have just rotated the same 15 or 20 sleepsuits, and now she’s older I have a few nicer outfits. I recommend the Asda ribbed zip up sleepsuit multipacks, that’s all my daughter lives in at home

My little one was 5lb9 when born. 1st 3 weeks she was in Tiny baby, then newborn. Fit into up to 1 month clothes at 2months old, and didn't start fitting into 0-3 until 3months old. I bought a bundle of second hand and the rest we were gifted.

My boy was 8.15 he went straight into 0-3 and some 1 month bits he didnt loose anyweight so outgrew lots of his 1month bits quickly and nappies had to size up at 4 weeks he now weighs 11lb 4 at 6 weeks

My babies were 10lb and 8lb8 and we still used 0-3 for a couple of months, we did skip newborn clothing and just bought one pack of 1 month sleepsuits from m&s and then just bought a few vests and sleepsuits 0-3, highly recommend zip up. Then they grew into 3-6 by 2 months. You'll unlikely need any cute outfits or such until 3-6 months.
Yes they grow quickly but still need the essentials, especially when they sleep so much and you want a safe fit.
If you're worried about cost vinted is great and most boys are great condition as they wear them for such little time.

Thank you all ladies, these are all super helpful. Third trimester fatigue hit me already in beginning and it’s real! I can only read your comments now. Luv xx
