I’ve been exploring Christianity and attending services at an Anglican Church - I really enjoy it but worried it’s for selfish reasons - I’m worried I only want to believe because I believe there’s a heaven as I’m scared of death and those who believe won’t perish and have eternal life - since exploring I’ve definitely noticed a change in myself for example I can’t bin clothes like I once did (a big sin I know I did it once) I now go out of my way to donate etc and believe heavily in karma etc
Idk what I’m getting at tbf but idk I’m just confused? I’ve been atheist my whole life is that just who I am?

anyone can changed and saved through Him! just because you used to be an atheist doesn’t mean that’s the rest of your life! we are restored in Him. and the biggest thing about Christianity is having a relationship with Jesus. going to church is definitely important, but you have to accept Jesus in your heart in order to be saved, then you receive the Holy Spirit. From there, while building a relationship with Him and reading the Bible, sanctification happens. that’s when you start being transformed from the inside to be more like Jesus! sins you used to commit start to feel gross, or you don’t want to do them anymore. kind of like what you described with your clothes! it’s not an immediate process, it takes time! and remember none of us are perfect. you’ll fall back into bad habits, say things you don’t mean, have doubts. when that happens you just have to remember that Christ made you new, so repent and ask for forgiveness, and keep moving forward
