Will of God or mine?

Hello Mamas!

I’m new to the group and just got a whole new perspective on the will of God, especially in regards to my career path. I guess I’ve been subconsciously attaching myself to a title or specific career path not truly know if it is on God’s will or not. I’ve prayed over these positions and am willing to surrender my will for his. I’m working part time right now and bills are more than mine and my husband’s income. I don’t want to continue job hopping and in all honesty I would really love to stay at the shelter I am currently working at just in a different role like Donation/Fundraising Assistant or Transport Driver. However, I would need a pay increase because my current hourly pay is not enough to sustain us even working full-time. I would truly appreciate some biblical wisdom and guidance on what to do.

P.S. Administration/Office Support is my strength and I do enjoy it

Prayer

I keep getting so frustrated inside and overwhelmed with emotion because of being a single mom. My mind feels bogged down by the amount of work I feel like I have to do. Even though my kids fathers help. It’s just when im home with the kids and there’s so much to do. I just look around and get so overwhelmed. It feels like non stop. Then I want a break. Not from my kids but just from life. Like dang. Why it’s so much to do damn. I’m behind in some bills. I moved in this place and it is a blessing. Yet im just so disappointed that I have no man no family and not even a friend that feels like home. Im the go to person for so many. Im also pissed at myself because I did so well not having sex for a whole. Then at the beginning of the year I did with the youngest 2 dad and it’s like he tries to talk to me now more. Literally afterwards I reminded him we hadn’t touched each other in almost 4 years after his cheating and my growth that we weren’t ever supposed to do that and im not interested in being with him. We both have different values and desires. Mind you this happened because I was waiting (basically homeless) while section 8 approved a new place. Then after about a month in a half this man I’ve been liking , talking to for about 2 years and honestly talked about marriage and everything. We share the same values and all. I was praying it could be it. But guess who acted all defensive when I said like you know I don’t want to unintentionally attach myself to someone if they aren’t interested in being serious.
Anyways that’s not all. My biological mom practically stopped talking to me AGAIN after Mother’s Day. I’m tired of her coming in and out of my life. That’s a whole other thing.

Please just pray for me if you know the Lord and are serious about your faith. I’m honestly not looking for advice. Or anything like that cause I don’t even know if my heart will receive. I beat myself up and have days where I cheer myself up. I’m also on my monthly so I may just be feeling too deeply. And I don’t even want to share all of this with anyone I talk to. Cause no one ever hears me really spill. My therapist helps me but it’s been every 3 weeks lately with her summer schedule.

Thanks anyways. Blessings

Christian mom group chat

Would anyone be interested in having a phone # or instagram group chat to discuss God and family junk? I find it really hard to find secular people around me who don’t judge how I live in faith and am desperate for Christian mom friends cause my church is very small and everyone’s pretty old 😅

31, married with a child, career gap and visa concerns feeling lost and need advice

Hi everyone, please I really need honest advice.

I’m 31 years old and I feel very lost right now. I don’t know what the right step is anymore, and everything in my life feels uncertain at the same time.

I’m in a marriage where I don’t feel emotionally secure or supported. There is little to no affection, communication is poor, and most of the time I feel ignored or dismissed. When I try to talk, I feel unheard. Some days things seem okay and it gives me hope, but it doesn’t last, and I go back to feeling alone again. It honestly feels like I’m constantly asking for the bare minimum in the marriage, and it’s very draining.

We have a young daughter, and she is my biggest priority in all of this.

I’m currently on a dependent visa, and we are both due for ILR next year, so I’m very worried about making any decision that could affect my immigration status or my child’s stability.

Career-wise, I’m a medical doctor, but I’ve had a 3-year clinical gap. During that time, I was preparing for PLAB, had my pregnancy and maternity period, and also unfortunately had a fracture which required surgery and a long rehabilitation period. All of this delayed my progress.

I eventually completed my PLAB process in 2024, and the plan was to get a job. However, it was very difficult to secure a role in my city, and jobs in other cities were far away. As immigrants without strong support systems, childcare and relocation costs made that very difficult.

So as a family, we decided it would be better for me to focus on the MSRA exam and aim for training in the same location instead of relocating for a non-training job. Unfortunately, my first attempt didn’t go well. On a later attempt, I scored very high, but due to prioritisation, I still did not get a placement. So at the moment, I don’t have a job yet, and this has added to my feeling of being stuck and unsure of what to do next.

Another issue is that we had plans to buy a house together. The total deposit would be around £30,000, with him contributing about £20,000 and me contributing about £10,000, and even part of my contribution was supported by him. Now, with the state of the marriage, I’m very unsure if this is a wise step or if it could complicate things further for me.

So right now, everything feels uncertain at once. My marriage, my career, my finances, and even my stability in this country.

I honestly don’t know what the best next step is.

Should I focus on getting a job first and becoming financially stable before making any major decisions? Is it wiser to stay for now because of my visa and my child, or start planning to leave? And regarding the house, is it wise to go ahead with buying a property together in this situation, or should I wait?

I’ve also thought about other options like preparing for USMLE, but with everything going on, I feel mentally overwhelmed and don’t even know where to start.

I would really appreciate honest and practical advice from anyone who has experienced something similar or has wisdom to share. Thank you so much.
