Red dye intake

I heard red dyes give kids bad behavior. Had anyone taken red dyes out of their kids diet and noticed a different. Im wondering if it's worth a shot to try with my sons behavior. He only hits and scratches when he gets upset and thats not alot. He's really a good happy little boy. He's 4 BTW.
