Fibro diagnosis

Hi everyone,

I hope you don’t mind me posting this.

About 4 months ago I had a very quick, unmediated home birth without any health professionals present (this wasn’t planned). Since then I’ve been experiencing a lot of symptoms that seem similar to fibromyalgia.

I am in contact with my GP, but I just wanted to ask if anyone here has experience with fibromyalgia and how it is diagnosed?

I’m feeling quite stressed and uncertain at the moment, so any advice or shared experiences would be really appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome first, following an infection. Although it took 7/8 years for doctors to take me seriously. Then a rheumatologist consultant diagnosed fibromyalgia about 15 years after the virus that caused all this but no one could tell me if it was as well as CFS or instead of 🤷🏽‍♀️

Diagnosis was basically testing for everything they thought it could have been and excluding them. Although it took me fighting every step of the way for each test as they said I was just stressed or had health anxiety (neither was true). There is no test for fibromyalgia to confirm it unfortunately. Although there is a pattern of “tender points” that people with fibromyalgia tend to experience pain in - that was the only test for fibro that they gave me, everything else was to exclude other illnesses.

I hope you have a more positive experience than I did. My messages are always open if I can be of any help x

Hi i was diognoised with cronic fategue syndrom and then fibromyalgia in 2022 however going through my history they believe that i have had it for at least 20 years. Unfortunetly fibro is a thing that takes a long time to diognoise they have to rule other things out first. Then either or rheumatologist will diognoise you.
Be prepared to document everything keep a diary and keep going back.if your not happy ask for second opinions and also ask them what next if results come back negative. Look at symptoms as a whole and not individually

Baby doll

Anyone get their son a baby doll? Did they love it?
Thinking of getting mine one for christmas as he's gravitated towards one a couple of times at a toddler group. For context my son will be 18 months, nearly 19 months at Christmas.

How often are we changing sleepsuit?

If baby isn’t spitting up / having poop explosions and their sleepsuit is fine, how often are we changing them into a fresh one?

Are we changing them daily? I have been doing so but my husband thinks it’s pointless to change them into clean clothes if their outfit hasn’t got messy or dirty

Dummies

Anyone using a dummy yet for their LO?

My eldest had one until she was 2 and it was a lifesaver as she struggled to get to sleep.

Our 6 week old has been so fussy today and nothing would calm her or her her to sleep. Tried a dummy and she's definitely taken to it.

I was going to try avoid it this time round but think we may give her one for naps and sleep.

Sleep

I know it’s highly recommended that you and your child sleep in the same room until 6 months old, but I’m just curious if many people moved their babies into their own room sooner?
