My daughter is 4 years old and waiting for a autism diagnosis but in my heart I know something has always been different with her , has anyone got an assessment done for their child and what was it like and after how's with them going to school weather going to mainstream or SEN schooling ?
Any advice welcome 🙏🏽

It all depends from your daughter each child is different in my case they told me he will be fine in mainstream school but for other children might be different…

heyyy, such a blessing to such a beautiful child ❤️ i have 3 boys aged 5,4 and 3 who have all been diagnosed with autism and are non verbal it’s a very hard process but when they start getting the help they need little things fall in place. two off my boys are in lrb schools and love it xx

Assessment wise they're trying to gauge what your child has been like since birth so there are a lot of questions. My son is 5 now and started at a specialist school in September which was the right decision for him. He is non verbal and needs a lot of adult support. If your child is in nursery they maybe able to offer more of an insight into what setting would be appropriate.

My daughter started nursery in Jan 2019 she was diagnosed within 6 months but that was because the nursery teacher used to be a senco and knew the process,my daughter stayed in a main stream as they could meet her needs you would need to apply for an ECHP to have any chance of a special school and that can be rejected
