My sons doctor said we can use melatonin, is she right?

Last time I questioned about melatonin and a lot of mommies said no to it. My son doesnt have a legit sleep schedule yet. Its hectic. I cant stay up until 430am anymore. I give him melatonin and hes out 30 min after I give it to him for the rest of the night. He also likes taking late nights because hes in school from 1 to 4...what would you suggest?

How old is he?

In moderation. I do on occasion for my little one who's 2. If possible, try getting him to cut that late nap out. I think thats the issue.

So I used it with my daughter when she had night terrors and needed a better sleep schedule. This is what her pediatrician advised for us. We were to use only for 2 weeks to help create her natural sleep cycle. We would give it 30 minutes prior to bedtime. Also we created the same routine each night, from set dinner to getting ready for bed. After the 2 weeks, we could give it every other day and wean off as the pediatrician wanted her body to create its own melatonin as her body should have established a better schedule, while still maintaining our daily schedule. We used the olly melatonin gummies. I recommend making sure to brush teeth before bed to prevent cavities.

Now my kids use the olly chillax, which is the magnesium and they sleep good with that. They are restless at night

I think you need to be sure not to do it for extended periods of time, like any other supplement it is not meant as a long term use solution. I'd be sure his iron is good and rule out any other health issues that are contributing to it as well. Definitely use for short term as you work through long term solutions. Good luck!

We used it last year when our daughter went through a horrible sleep regression/sleepless phase. We tried everything to the point that I took her to a neurologist because we were at wits end. She gave us a sleep hygiene schedule. She told us to try it for three weeks and if there was no change, we could introduce melatonin (for a maximum of 3 months if absolutely necessary). I used the melatonin to create the sleep schedule. I cried that first morning she slept through the night. We used it for a month I think. It was a godsend for us. My daughter was 19 months at the time. She’s 2.8 yrs now.

Speech

My LO has just turned 6m and I noticed today how she the last few weeks she has decreased the amount she babbles and doesn’t seem as interested in trying to talk. She smiles and watches our mouthes when talking to her though.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

How much is your 3 year old boy speaking

Hi ladies. My little boy is a little over 3. He speaks in 3-4/5 word phrases. His vocab is varied. Saying the things he needs. Recently we ran into several girls a little older than him and their speech is far more advanced. His cousin is 6 months younger and her speech is also much more advanced.

Starting to wonder if he should be speaking more? The little girls even made fun of him for not speaking as much as them…just unreal.

Anyways would love some thoughts

To tell or not to tell?

My MIL oversteps boundaries, disrespects our parenting decisions and belittles me as a mother in various ways. The first time she did this was when we brought my baby home from hospital and she stayed with us, the second time was recently.
She lives in another country so we only see her once or twice a year. Is it worth telling my husband how I feel or just leave it as he obviously loves her so always excuses her behaviour as 'trying to help' and I don't want to make him sad :/
